Munich

Another of the people I worked with in Korea is now living and working in Germany, in Munich. In fact he arrived in Germany only a few days before I got here myself. Having found that out, I felt it would be almost criminal to be in Germany and not go and see him. So I got myself a ticket to Munich and headed there for a visit.

Sheldon actually lives a little outside Munich in a little town called Starnberg. It's about a 40 minute ride on the suburban train system. Sheldon met me at the little train station and took me to his apartment.

My first day in Starnberg I didn't do much except wander around a little bit. There is a really nice little lake at the south end of the town. Across the lake, the Alps are visible. It's a really nice situation for him to have found himself. If I could choose a place to live and work, Starnberg could well be it.

The sunset over the lake that first day was very beautiful, with the sun going down over the hill and ducks splashing and diving in the water.
