Told you! The really impressive thing about all these motorbikes, though, is that when they are being ridden on the street, the riders all wear helmets. Of all the things that surprise me about Jakarta, I think that might be the most surprising. I thought I would see people hanging off bikes in all sorts of crazy poses, most without helmets. But no. The most I have seen on a bike is two, and all riders wear helmets. I'm not sure if this a sign of the obeying of rules, or of just how dangerous the streets are here.
